Kelly Clemons
Kelly Clemons is a Dallas-based artist who was raised in the small town of Prosper, Texas. While attaining her BA in Literature and Theater from Texas Tech Universtiy, Kelly discovered a small and quaint studio on the outskirts of Lubbock where she learned the beauty and power of clay. Learning to control something that seemingly doesn't want to be harnessed was alluring for Kelly, and she found clay's unpredictable nature to be both mentoring and therapeutic. Many years and a husand and child later, she returned to clay and found herself working solely with the beautiful yet fickle medium of porcelain. Kelly can usually be found in her studio embracing the daily learning curve that porcelain demands and remembering that she truly loves a challenge. She is extremely grateful for the daily lessons of patience and humility that come with being a full-time artist, and she looks back on that tiny, old-world studio in Lubbock with immense gratitude and reverence.
